Why Bentonville families choose us

We do much more than just take pet photos. We specialize in families who include their pets as part of their photography story.

With decades of experience photographing animals — from wildlife and birds to dogs and horses — we understand movement, timing, and emotion in real outdoor environments. That experience allows sessions to stay calm, flexible, and enjoyable for both kids and pets.

The result isn’t stiff posing.
It’s photography that feels like your family.

Our favorite dog-friendly locations in Bentonville

Osage Park. This popular park has diverse backdrops for photography: open green fields, tall native grasses, boardwalks, and views of the lake. For example, dogs love exploring the walking trails. Additionally, there is ample room for them to run, sniff, and settle in for quieter moments. It photographs beautifully in every season, especially during golden hour. Learn more about golden hour in our in-depth article: Natural light is a photographer’s best friend.

Compton Gardens and Arboretum. Nestled just off downtown, Compton Gardens offers a peaceful setting filled with native plants, stone paths, and shaded trails, all wonderful for photographs. For example, it is ideal for more relaxed sessions or dogs that need a quieter, less stimulating environment. Additionally, the gardens feel secluded but are still close to town. This gives us flexibility to combine this spot with more urban looks nearby.

This golden retriever strikes quite the pose as she observes her back yard kingdom. Beautiful.

Crystal Bridges Trails. While dogs aren’t allowed inside the museum, the grounds and connecting trails are a dream for photography. The Art Trail and North Forest Trail wind through wooded areas and many art installations. They offer a combination of nature and sculpture that makes for truly unique pet photography backgrounds. These trails tend to be quieter during weekdays and early mornings, which is great for more sensitive dogs.

Orchards Park. This lesser-known Bentonville park features large grassy areas, a peaceful pond, and wide-open skies. It’s a great choice for dogs who need space to run. Orchards Park also tends to be less crowded than some of the central parks, making it a great option for reactive or easily distracted pets.

Downtown Bentonville. For dogs who are comfortable around people and a little noise, Downtown Bentonville is perfect. It offers brick sidewalks, colorful murals, historic storefronts, and an energetic atmosphere. We can stroll past the square, stop at photo-worthy spots like the Momentary, or even grab a few shots outside dog-friendly patios. This area works best for dogs who are confident on a leash and do well in more stimulating environments.

Slaughter Pen Trail. Part of the larger Razorback Greenway system, Slaughter Pen winds through wooded areas, alongside creeks, and across bike bridges. It’s ideal for active dogs and owners who want a session with lots of natural textures and trail scenery. We can photograph your dog walking alongside you, playing near the water, or just soaking up the natural beauty.

Beaver Lake. While not in the Bentonville city limits, Beaver Lake is one of the area’s great locations to photograph your dog. And it is less than a half hour away. It is a beautiful lake that has not been pummeled by development and growth.

Sniffspot Parks (Private Rentals). Sniffspot for Bentonville offers private, fully fenced yards for rent by the hour. These spaces provide safe, off-leash play without the park crowds.

Have a favorite trail or park? We’re happy to meet you and your pup there, too.

Frequently Asked Questions (Bentonville)

Entering tunnels is always an entertaining part of the agility course at a dog show

Can I (or my family) be in the photos too?
Definitely. Our Family and Pet Portrait Package is designed for exactly that. However, you’re welcome to join in, no matter which package you choose.

What happens if the weather’s bad?
If it rains or conditions aren’t ideal, we’ll reschedule at no cost.

Do you only photograph in Bentonville?
We photograph all over Northwest Arkansas, but Bentonville is one of our favorite spots. Whether you want to meet at Osage Park, walk trails near Crystal Bridges, or explore quieter areas like Orchards Park, we’ll help you choose a location that fits your dog’s personality and your style.

What if my dog can’t be off-leash?
That’s completely fine. Most dogs are on a leash during the session—especially in busy areas like the Momentary Green or near the Square. Also, we can usually edit out the leash with photo editing software, making the final images look clean and natural without sacrificing safety.

What if my dog is anxious or doesn’t like new places?
We work with all kinds of dogs, including those who are shy, nervous, or reactive. If your dog needs a quieter setting, we can recommend locations like Orchards Park or less-trafficked parts of Slaughter Pen Trail. We always go at your dog’s pace and never force interactions or poses.

Serving more than just Bentonville

We photograph dogs and families throughout Northwest Arkansas, including Fayetteville, Rogers, Springdale, and surrounding communities.
