Why Chesterfield families choose us

We don’t just take pet photos. We specialize in families who include their pets as part of their story.

With decades of experience photographing animals — from wildlife and birds to dogs and horses — we understand movement, timing, and emotion in a way few photographers do. That experience keeps sessions calm, safe, and natural for both kids and pets.

The result isn’t stiff poses. It’s real moments that feel like your family.

And what we hope to get in the end from you is one word: “Wow”

Our top dog-friendly locations in Chesterfield

There are tons of great spots all over Chesterfield, but these three stand out to us:

Central Park. This is our most-requested location in Chesterfield. Between the lake, the fountain, the walking trails, and the polished landscape, it gives us a clean, classic backdrop that works for dogs of all types. It’s also easy to access, with plenty of space to roam without distractions.

Gracie was reluctant to give up her throne when Ellie came along. Today, they are two peas in a pod.
It’s play time for these goldens. Action photography like this takes experience and we have decades of it.

River’s Edge Park. If your dog loves long walks and open skies, River’s Edge is ideal. With prairie grasses, water views, and long straight trails, this park gives us plenty of room to work and looks fantastic in both morning and evening light.

Chesterfield Levee Trail. Great for high-energy dogs who need room to move. The views go on forever, and the breeze off the river is a nice freebie. This is a perfect place for action photos. Additionally, it’s especially strong for pet owners who want a more natural, spacious look to their photos.

Bluebird Park. This is a real gem. Technically in Ellisville, this small park has a large area for dogs to roam.

Gracie’s Corner: Three favorite things about Chesterfield

1. There’s so much space to run. At River’s Edge, I can sprint until I forget why I’m even there. It’s my kind of place—no walls, no crowds, just wind, grass, and maybe a few geese that look like they need exercise.

2. Awesome benches at Central Park. Good for posing… and napping. When we have team meetings at Central Park, I always find the best bench. I lean into Todd, pretend I’m listening and hope for a treat. It’s peak cozy. Apparently, according the our photographers, the light is amazing (but I don’t notice—I’m too busy getting my eyes rubbed, which doesn’t suck).

3. No one rushes you here. That’s what I like. Chesterfield is full of cool cats. The trails are wide, and the people are chill. That means I don’t have to fake-smile—I can just be myself, and those are the best kinds of photos.

Frequently Asked Questions-FAQs (Chesterfield)

Who is having more fun in this great family portrait, Vincent the terrier or that adorable two-year-old?

Do you only photograph in Chesterfield?
No. While Chesterfield is one of our favorite locations in West County, we also provide pet photography sessions throughout the St. Louis area (MO and IL) and St. Charles county and the surrounding areas.

What if my dog can’t be off-leash during the session?
No worries. Safety for your best friend is our top priority. It’s common for most public parks to require pets to be on-leash. Here’s great news: our sophisticated photo editing software can, in most cases, remove leashes and collars. Easy peasy.

Can we include family members in the shoot?
Of course. Be aware that some photographers charge more to add family and multiple pets. But we don’t. See more details for our Family and Pet Portrait Package

What if my dog is shy or high energy around other dogs or people?
We understand that every dog has a unique temperament. For example, for more reserved or reactive dogs, we recommend quieter locations like River’s Edge Park. We can find secluded spots to ensure a comfortable environment for your pet.

Is your golden retriever Gracie really an employee?

Great question. Absolutely, positively yes. Wheels don’t turn at Outdoor Pet Photography Services without Gracie having a paw on it. Don’t tell anyone but it’s possible we have skirted a few puppy labor laws.
