Our favorite dog-friendly photo spots in Eureka

Eureka is loaded with great spots for outdoor dog photography:

Eureka Dog Park at Berry Park. Located within Berry Park, the Eureka Dog Park offers a secure environment with separate areas for large and small dogs, agility equipment, and shaded seating. It’s an excellent spot for action shots and candid moments of your dog at play. Annual membership is required for access. Thanks to our friends at bringfido.com for this idea.

Route 66 State Park. This expansive park features open fields, wooded areas, and trails along the Meramec River. The diverse landscapes provide a variety of backdrops, from riverside views to forested paths. It is an ideal spot for capturing your dog’s adventurous spirit. Dogs must remain leashed while exploring the park. This was another park from bringfido.com.

This spunky and athletic little pooch was a hit in the agility course at the recent show of the golden retriever club of St. Louis. He is about to easily jump the upcoming bar.

Honeysuckle Acres Dog Park. For a more private setting, Honeysuckle Acres offers a three-acre unfenced area with wooded trails and a creek. It’s perfect for dogs who enjoy exploring nature off the beaten path. Note that the area is unfenced, so it’s best suited for dogs with reliable recall.

When daddy takes me on drives we always seem to end up near Eureka. I love it. Here are my thoughts:

  • .Eureka Dog Park is paradise. I love the agility equipment here—jumping, weaving, and showing off my skills. It’s a great place to make new friends and burn off some energy.
  • Route 66 State Park offers endless sniffing opportunities. The trails here are filled with intriguing scents and sights. Walking along the river gives me a sense of adventure, and the open fields are perfect for a game of fetch. I prefer calling it catch. Fetch is so… negative.
  • Honeysuckle Acres feels like a secret hideaway. Exploring the wooded trails and splashing in the creek makes me feel like an intrepid explorer.

Frequently Asked Questions-FAQs (Eureka, MO)

This playful Vizsla was showing off for the camera as it raised up on its hind legs while running toward the camera.

My dog doesn’t do well around other dogs—can we try other locations?
Yes. We also regularly photograph in clients’ yards or neighborhoods when that’s the best fit for the dog’s comfort.

Do you only photograph in Eureka?
No. We provide pet photography sessions throughout the St. Louis market (Missouri and Illinois) and St. Charles and its surrounding areas. We are happy to accommodate your preferred setting.

What if my dog can’t be off-leash during the session?
Safety for your best friend is our top priority. It’s common for most public parks to require your beloved pets to be on-leash. Here’s great news: our sophisticated photo editing software can, in most cases, remove leashes and collars. Easy peasy.

Can we include family members in the shoot?
Of course. Be aware some photographers charge more to add family members and pets. See more details about our Family and Pet Portrait Package.

What if my dog is shy or high energy around other dogs or people?
We understand that every dog has a unique temperament. We can find secluded spots to ensure a comfortable environment for your pet.
